Our receptionists are fully trained and have a lot of information at their fingertips and will be able to answer many of your queries. If you are unsure as to whether to consult a doctor, nurse or health visitor etc, the receptionist will be able to advise you. Please rest assured that the rules of confidentiality apply equally to all practice staff; a brief explanation may enable them to suggest the right person for advice, or offer the most suitable appointment. Elizabeth Perna HCA
As part of our ongoing service to patients, Whitchurch Village Practice has nominated Lisa Latner as their Carer Champion. This role allows patients who have the responsibility of caring for relatives, neighbours or friends to contact the practice in confidence, as well as a friendly first stage towards getting well deserved recognition and assistance.
It is important that carers are aware that this service is available for them and to this end we would encourage carers to contact Lisa to discuss the assistance available. Lisa can be contacted on Wednesday and Friday mornings and Thursday afternoon at the Practice.
Smoking cessation is another service offered to patients; Liz Perna is our stop smoking champion and along with the doctors and nurses of the practice supports patients to give up smoking. If you would like details of this service please telephone the practice and ask to speak with Liz who works on a Monday and Tuesday.
Here at Whitchruch Village Practice Laura Stephen is our Health Screening Champion, she has been trained by Public Health Wales to be able to offer informed advice about the screening processes. Laura is available every day in the practice to speak with.
